The fishing has slowed down after almost one month of sheepshead mixed in with mackerel and ladyfish. The winds, waves,
and conditions have caused a major slow-down off the beach and pier.
Last month, a number of snook were caught off the dock; some were in the 27 – 30 inch range. These fish give you a great fight
and, of course, are wonderful to eat.
Many of us are waiting with “baited breath” for the tarpon run…probably starting in early June.
In general, the fishing has been best early in the morning and in the evening and night hours. Fishing both with green baits
and live shrimp seem to work best. |
